Dear Grapevine Many of the people I work with have been deaf since birth or early child- hood. ey use American Sign Language, rather than English, as their primary language. I'm happy to see more and more meetings o ering sign language interpreters. When other members are welcoming and support- ive to those with special needs, we see the barriers between su ering and sobriety fall away. Michael L. Minneapolis, Minn. Why not mention, as they do on ships, that the person was a friend of Bill W. or Dr. Bob?
