In high school, I played guitar in a band and worked in a music store. The guys I played with were older and I thought it was a blast to play music in bars that I wasn’t even old enough to get into. I met a girl during my junior year of high to be anyone but me, living perpetu- ally in a world of make-believe. I remember searching to feel like I belonged, a search which took me to a lot of sordid places before I finally found my true destination, Alcohol- ics Anonymous.
