Grapevine : November 2011
that pulls historical Grapevine articles from the digital Story Archive on AAGrapevine.org. This year, a reader re- quested that the theme be gratitude, and that we republish Bill W.'s classic gratitude essay. What a great suggestion! In the Story Archive, we found a generous well of gratitude stories to publish along with Bill W.'s "A Suggestion for Thanksgiving." Enjoy these classic GV selections, and for more gratitude, head to the Story Archive. It's a wonderful place to wander around. The rest of the issue carries more experience, strength and hope. In "Designated Driver," a woman tells how a ter- rible car accident led her to jail and AA, and in "Sky High," a young person shares how hard it was to leave the wild ad- ventures of drinking --- until she realized how out of control she was. Read these stories and many more in this issue. On another note, this is the final month that Grapevine will publish the Calendar of Events in the print magazine. Beginning in December, events will be published on the website in a free area only. The benefit is that we'll be able to publish more events than was previously possible. To submit events and read the calendar guidelines, please visit AAGrapevine.org, and keep those events coming in! Looping back to that reader who sent in the idea for this issue, thank you. And I encourage everyone---please send us your ideas and stories. We are always grateful to receive them.
