Grapevine : November 2011
Dear Grapevine their Area representative saying that volunteers were needed to go into the prisons, so I filled out the necessary form, and I was accepted. I went into a prison about an hour and a half drive from where we stay. We went there a couple of times before starting back for Canada. What an experience! I'm so glad my Higher Power put the desire in my heart to go, and that I didn't miss it! I've never actually been sent to prison. Hearing all those gates close behind me as I was going in there for the AA meeting helped me to appreciate my everyday freedom. And since com- ing back home, I've had the privilege of corre- sponding with a couple of the prisoners I met there, and that also is a very rewarding experience. My freedom is a great gi from God.
