Ihave been a Grapevine reader and subscriber for the past 32 years, and I have never discarded an issue, never failed to pass one on to another alcoholic. I am also a con- firmed e-reader devotee. However—it seems to me that every digital version of the Grapevine is one less issue to be passed around; one less to be given to the new member who might benefit from “our meeting in print.” We might have cause to celebrate an increase in electronic subscriptions— but not at the expense of the printed word. This inspired my most unique Twelfth Step experience. Why not start a new weekly meeting at the retirement home? With the gracious ac- ceptance of the retire- ment villa, we were given the use of an apartment, chairs and fresh coffee. The meeting now attracts members of all ages. Meg has moved on, but her legacy has become a legacy for me too. I reached out to another lonely soul, discovered a need, tried something new—and took some action. So simple, so rewarding. Wendy M.
